World FITASC Handisport Competition 2005

Southern Counties Shooting Ground, Dorset.

11th to 13th July 2005

Following on from the recent successes in Cyprus DSG members also attended the World Handisport FITASC Competition.   The weather was every bit as hot as it had been in Cyprus, but the layouts were more accessible and again the competition was shot on the two days preceding the main competition.   DSG Members who took part in the competition were Paul Bailey, David Craik, Colin Dowson, Bob Kibblewhite, Adrian Last, Joe Marshall, Alec Sperling and Brian Wilkie.

The competition was shot over two days with two layouts each day and also divided into sitting and standing competitors.

Adrian Last in action

In the sitting category Adrian Last took an early lead with some exceptional shooting on the first day putting him 9 targets in front of Paul Bailey, his closest competitor.   Adrian also shot well on the second day finally pulling 14 targets clear to take the Gold medal.

In the standing category Elio Spadoni took the lead with 38, two targets ahead of Pascal Da Silva (36) after the first day, with Bob Kibblewhite close behind on 34 and Bruno Borneck (France), David Craik and Alec Sperling all on 33.   Elio and Pascal maintained their lead and close ompetition ensued for 3rd place with only 4 targets separating Alec, Bruno and David at the end.
